In short: Most shops sell Rudraksha 'power combinations' as fixed, pre-made bracelets. On GemKrishna you can build the same combinations yourself, bead by bead, in the Custom Rudraksha Bracelet Builder. Below are ten combinations by purpose, the exact beads to pick, what each costs (the bracelet starts at ₹999 with free base beads), and a simple table of how many beads fit your wrist. Every Rudraksha you pick comes with its own free lab report and X-ray from GJSPC Laboratory, an independent lab in New Delhi, stating the bead's origin.

The purposes below are the traditional associations of each mukhi as described in Rudraksha texts. They are matters of faith and tradition, not medical or financial guarantees.

How a Rudraksha bracelet is put together

Every combination in this guide has the same three parts:

  • Focal Rudraksha: the one to five beads you are wearing the bracelet for, for example an 11 Mukhi for courage. You pay for these per bead.
  • Base beads: smaller 3 to 7 Mukhi Rudraksha that fill the rest of the bracelet. These are free, in 8, 10 or 12 mm. If you pick more than one type, they alternate.
  • Stringing: elastic, strong thread or knotted thread (free), German silver (₹999), or 925 silver capping (₹2,000 for the whole bracelet with small Rudraksha, or ₹300 per big Rudraksha).

You can also skip base beads entirely and string only your chosen Rudraksha.

The 10 combinations at a glance

Prices below use Indonesian (Java) beads unless the combination says Nepal or India, on free 5 Mukhi base beads with elastic or thread. They include the ₹999 bracelet price and a free GJSPC report and X-ray for every focal bead. Prices can change; the builder always shows the current price.

Each combination, explained

1. Calm mind and daily practice

5 Mukhi is associated with Kalagni Rudra (Lord Shiva) and is the Rudraksha most commonly worn every day. A single premium big-size 5 Mukhi Nepal bead in the centre, on 5 Mukhi base beads, is the simplest Rudraksha bracelet you can make and a good first bracelet. If you want it to look traditional, choose knotted thread.

2. Students and exams

4 Mukhi is associated with Lord Brahma (knowledge and learning) and 6 Mukhi with Lord Kartikeya (willpower and focus). Place them side by side in the centre. For a younger wrist, choose 8 mm base beads so the bracelet stays light.

3. Business and career

7 Mukhi (Goddess Mahalakshmi, prosperity), 8 Mukhi (Lord Ganesha, removing obstacles) and 12 Mukhi (Surya Dev, leadership). In the note at the end of the builder, ask for the 12 Mukhi in the centre with one bead on each side.

4. Courage and protection

9 Mukhi (Goddess Durga) and 11 Mukhi (Lord Hanuman) are both traditionally worn for courage and protection. A popular choice for people who travel a lot or work in demanding jobs.

5. Couples and marriage

Gauri Shankar is two Rudraksha naturally joined together, associated with Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati. Because joining two beads with glue is one of the most common fakes in the market, the X-ray on your GJSPC report matters most here: it shows whether the two beads grew together. Couples often order two matching bracelets.

6. New job, new home, new venture

Ganesh Rudraksha (a bead with a natural trunk-like bump) and 8 Mukhi are both associated with Lord Ganesha, who is invoked before beginning anything new. A thoughtful gift for someone starting out.

7. Prosperity

A premium big-size 7 Mukhi Nepal bead for Goddess Mahalakshmi, with an Indonesian 8 Mukhi for removing obstacles.

8. Leadership and confidence

12 Mukhi (Surya Dev) with a 3 Mukhi Himalayan/Uttarakhand Rudraksha from India (Agni Dev, confidence and energy). This is one of the few combinations where you can wear an Indian-origin Rudraksha, which most online shops don't offer at all.

9. Premium Nepal set (3 to 7 Mukhi)

Five premium big-size Nepal beads, one each of 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7 Mukhi, with no base beads. Nepal beads are large, so this makes a bold bracelet. With large beads, 925 silver capping (₹300 per bead, ₹1,500 for this set) protects the bead edges and makes it look finished; total with capping is about ₹6,494.

10. Complete 1 to 14 Mukhi set

One Indonesian bead of every mukhi from 1 to 14, each with its own lab report and X-ray, so 14 reports in all. Sets like this are usually sold pre-made at a fixed price; here you can see the price of every single bead. Indonesian beads are small, so 14 of them usually fit an average wrist without base beads. Tell us if you'd like them in mukhi order.

How many beads fit your wrist?

A question no shop answers clearly: how many base beads will my bracelet have? The table below is a guide for a bracelet of base beads only. Each focal Rudraksha you add takes the place of one or more base beads, depending on its size. Our karigars finalise the count for your exact wrist and beads, so you never need to calculate this yourself.

Your wrist 8 mm beads 10 mm beads 12 mm beads
14 cm about 19 about 16 about 13
15 cm about 21 about 17 about 14
16 cm about 22 about 18 about 15
17 cm about 23 about 19 about 15
18 cm about 24 about 20 about 16
19 cm about 26 about 21 about 17

Choosing a bead size: 8 mm is light and discreet, good for women, teenagers and office wear. 10 mm is the most popular, everyday size. 12 mm is bold and suits larger wrists, or a bracelet with big Nepal beads so the base beads don't look lost next to them.

Five design tips from our karigars

  1. Put the bead you care about most in the centre. Write it in the note: for example, '11 Mukhi in the centre, 9 Mukhi on its left'.
  2. Don't put many big Nepal beads on elastic. Heavy beads pull on elastic. With three or more premium Nepal beads, choose strong thread or silver capping.
  3. Use silver spacers to separate focal beads. A 925 silver spacer on each side of a focal bead makes it stand out from the base beads.
  4. If unsure, start with one bead. One good focal Rudraksha on base beads is a complete bracelet. You can add beads later; send it back and we restring it.
  5. Match the base beads to the purpose. Alternating two types of base beads (for example 5 and 7 Mukhi) adds meaning without adding cost, since base beads are free.

What you get with every combination

Frequently asked questions

Can I wear more than one mukhi in the same bracelet?

Yes. Combining mukhis in one bracelet is a long-standing tradition, and the builder lets you add any number of different Rudraksha.

Do I need base beads?

No. Base beads are free and optional. Choose 'No base beads' to string only the Rudraksha you pick.

Does every bead in a combination get a lab report?

Every Rudraksha you choose gets its own free GJSPC lab report and X-ray, so a five-bead combination comes with five reports.

Can I mix Nepal and Indonesian beads?

Yes. Nepal beads are larger, so put them in the centre and tell us in the note how you'd like them arranged.
