Ask anyone to name a 925 silver brand in India and you will get the same handful of answers — the minimalist, everyday-fashion labels. They are good at what they do, and if a slim stacking ring is what you want, buy one from them.

We are not that. It is worth saying so plainly rather than pretending to compete on the same ground.

SILVY is a made-to-order silver workshop. We make heavy men's chains by the gram, god pendants of deities nobody else lists, astrological rings with open backs so the stone touches skin, and pieces built around a gemstone you already own and post to us. Almost none of it is a catalogue item pulled off a shelf.

Who makes it

SILVY is designed by Poonam Gupta, who has been designing jewellery for over twenty years. The pieces are made by our own karigars — an in-house team with more than forty years of experience between the senior hands.

That matters for one practical reason: we are not placing your order with a third-party manufacturer and waiting. When you ask for a ring in a size that is not listed, or a chain two inches longer, or the same pendant in a heavier gauge, the person who will make it is in our own workshop. That is why the answer is usually yes, and why the turnaround is six to seven days rather than six weeks.

We make both handmade and cast pieces, and we plate in gold, rhodium or leave it plain, across every category.

How our silver is priced

Custom silver here is priced as the day's silver rate plus making charges. Not a fixed retail number with an invented discount on top of it.

And we publish the gram weight on the product itself. Look at the titles — a 5.13 gram anklet, a 56 gram Cuban chain bracelet, a 108.6 gram Laddoo Gopal idol. The weight is right there in the name.

This is deliberate and it is the fastest check any buyer can run. Silver has a market rate. Once you know the weight, you know roughly what the metal is worth, and the remainder is the making — which is the part you are actually judging. A seller who will not tell you the gram weight is asking you to judge a price with the main variable hidden.

What “made to order” actually means here

Every category is customisable. Specifically:

• Any ring size, any chain length, any wrist or ankle size. Not a dropdown of four options.
• Any stone. Buy the gemstone from us, or send us one you already own and we will set it. This is a routine request here, not a special favour — inherited stones and astrologer-prescribed stones come to us constantly.
• Any metal. 925 silver is the main line, and we also work in panch dhatu, german silver and gold.
• Any plating. Gold, rhodium, or plain.
• Open-back settings by default on astrological pieces, so the stone contacts the skin as traditional practice requires.
• Designs we have made but not yet listed. A large part of what we produce never makes it onto the website. If you have a reference photo or a design in mind, send it over.

Hallmarking and purity

Most SILVY pieces are BIS hallmarked. Where a piece is not, you can add hallmarking before the order is made — it appears at checkout as “Silver Hallmark (Tonch)” at ₹249 and adds up to two days. That is a full BIS hallmark with a HUID, not a decorative stamp.

One point of honesty that catches people out: plain silver with no stone does not come with a lab report, and should not. A gemological laboratory certifies stones. Hallmarking is what certifies metal purity. Any seller offering you a “lab certificate” for a stoneless silver chain is selling you a piece of paper that means nothing.

Where a piece does carry a stone, that stone is certified individually, with a report number unique to it, printed on the listing and verifiable online before you pay. Reports are mainly from GJSPC, and IGI, GRS Swisslab, IIGJ, GSI or GIA can be used on request.

This is where we are genuinely hard to replace. Fifty-plus god pendants including Khatu Shyam, Tirupati Balaji, Kuber, Narasimha, Parashurama, Garuda Dev and Kali — forms most silver brands in India simply do not carry. Plus murtis and home-temple pieces such as the 108.6 gram Laddoo Gopal at ₹35,500.

Silver is a metal you keep, so we service it:

• Polishing — silver tarnishes; that is chemistry, not a fault
• Re-plating — gold or rhodium, when the original wears
• Resizing — rings, chains, bangles

And on beaded and strung pieces, lifetime repair with no time limit — send back the beads and charms and we restring them.
